This is so interesting. I would love to know whether it's the grounding or the vitamin d. I remember during the pandemic the "stupid walks for my mental health" became a HUGE thing. 🤔🤔

Truly not sure, I think this is one of the things that improvement is shown but it’s hard to completely pinpoint the reason. Could probably be something to do with the removal of distractions like a TV or a phone, there’s less sounds like cars etc that can distract one

Agreed. It probably did exist, but the awareness was not there, the knowledge or talked about like it is today.

This is a great post Sara and it does make one think about the powers of nature and being outside. I do believe that technology has a great role in ADHD diagnosis. And not a good one. And this is just my opinion, but we are training our brains for the quick movement of scrolling, games and watching short videos on our phones and screens. and we can no longer hold out attention for longer periods, or really focus and maybe as we get older, brain fog...And it is not uncommon for a child to be spending hours on these devices, sitting inside. When we are within nature things are slow, we take in all that is around us and our minds can then respond appropriately. Growing up, we would spend hours outside, playing, learning, being grounded and not even realizing it. ADHD was just not a thing 40 years ago. At school, we had recess break to go play outside for 20 minutes, had an hour lunch where again, we played outside and then after school, you know what we did...played outside..

Thank you, Danni! It definitely did exist but to a lesser extent, there is a genetic aspect to it too. Also inability to concentrate does not directly mean ADHD, there is a lot more that comes with it biologically too the brain can be quite different (of course depends on the extent of it). But even in schools, kids are now working from computers, iPads in class so their dopamine receptors are simply fried... also they have been on a screen since birth, so I would say they just don't have the attention span to focus on anything longer than a few seconds due to the constant content switching, and even cartoons change frames every couple of seconds...
